We were excited to have Martin Westwell, Chief Executive, Department for Education visit Thorndon Park Kindergarten, where he engaged deeply to celebrate our achievements, discuss our learning aspirations, and explore our future directions. His visit was a significant opportunity to share our prior and current experiences, address our questions and wonderings, and strengthen our alignment with the Departments Strategy for Public Education. I do enjoy listening to Martin and I'm sure it was a wonderful visit for both the kindy and for Martin to see the wonderful things you are doing at Thorndon Park Kindy. I am very much hoping someone took the opportunity to asked Martin about the disconnect between the public education strategy for children's agency, citizenship and community and the current ban on low heat hot glue guns in kindergartens, reception and Year 1???

At Thorndon Park Kindegarten we promote a sense of community and we highly value our connections between kindergarten and our local community. In 2023, the children were involved in a Campbelltown City Council (SA) Intergenerational Project in collaboration with Athelstone Community Garden at Padulesi Park.
