Our Story
A Place Where Childhood is Valued
For over 50 years, Thorndon Park Kindergarten has been a valued part of the local community, providing generations of children with a warm, welcoming and inspiring place to begin their educational journey.
Throughout our history, our commitment has remained the same—to provide children with a safe, nurturing environment where they feel a strong sense of belonging, develop meaningful relationships and are empowered to become confident learners.
Today, our kindergarten continues to evolve, embracing contemporary research, innovative teaching practices and the latest developments in early childhood education while remaining true to what matters most—children.
Every day our learning spaces are thoughtfully designed to encourage curiosity, creativity, collaboration and independence. We celebrate childhood as a unique and valuable stage of life, recognising that children learn best through meaningful play, inquiry, exploration and authentic relationships.
At Thorndon Park Kindergarten, we are proud to be part of the Department for Education and are committed to providing a high-quality educational program guided by:
- The Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF V2.0)
- Keeping Safe Curriculum
- The National Quality Standards
